Mental Illness: Schizophrenia - Signs to Watch for Schizophrenia is one of the more detrimental mental illnesses that occur among people. The word schizophrenia literally means scattered mind. This problem can happen rapidly or over a longer period of time. If you think that you know someone who is developing schizophrenia, you can look for certain signs. By doing this, you can catch the problem in its earlier stages, allowing the person to be able to move back towards living a normal life.
The first signs of schizophrenia as a mental illness usually occur between youth and young adulthood. However, the disease will not be completely functional until later on in one's life. By recognizing schizophrenia when one is a young adult, it can be easier to treat. However, schizophrenia can take place in anyone's life at any given time.
One of the first things that are recognizable in schizophrenia is disorganized thinking. Usually, one who is developing schizophrenia will jump from subject to subject. In relation to this, the topics that they are thinking of will not have much relation to one another. By not being able to organize their thoughts, it shows that the person is having a hard time perceiving the connections that are apparent in relation to reality. In relation to this, it will seem that what the person is saying is not coherent to you. The speech is often times so disorganized that sentences are rearranged or not said completely. Another part of this is that several will speak in abstract terms instead of being grounded in their thoughts and what they mean by them.

Schizophrenia is a brain disease that disables a person from everyday functioning. Understanding what schizophrenia is and the different characteristics behind it will often allow someone to help someone who is suffering from schizophrenia. Because this is a serious, mental illness, it is important to know what is involved in schizophrenia.
Schizophrenia is known as a brain disease that slowly begins to function one from normal functioning. From this disease, one begins to confuse realities and will begin to carry strange behaviors and personalities. From this, the person who develops schizophrenia is unable to function at a normal level.
Schizophrenia may be a result of several different factors. Several say that it is a result of genetics that run in the family. It is said that several genes that are combined together will cause schizophrenia in someone. Another reason why schizophrenia may develop in someone is because of problems that they may have had at birth. Complications that stress out the fetus often result in schizophrenia developing later on. Another possible reason for schizophrenia is because of neural transmitters that move into the brain. Communications between nerve cells may cause the chemicals in the brain to shift and result in schizophrenia. These are only a few of several factors in which are being considered in relation to schizophrenia.
